About the Guide Number
The range of a flash unit is determined by the guide number. The higher the number, the wider the range. Pay close attention when m
aking
comparisons however, that the indication is based on the same focal length. If you wish to increase the range of your flash unit, th
en you
may consider using a film with higher sensitivity, because they require less light! This effect is excellent for use in manual m
ode. The higher
sensitivity is adjusted on the flash unit.
